“Why English Abolished?”

Topic : Education

            English is an International language. Imagine that English is removed or abolished, especially in Indonesia. Why? How it will be? Why English abolished?

            The Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) plan to abolish English on the curriculum of Elementary School. I think it is not good decision. Putu Widiasastra, as the coordinator of Lembaga Pendidikan Indonesia Amerika (LPIA)/ Indonesia America Education Institute, said that the abolition of English is not appropriate because children need to learn the international language early on. Sastra admitted that abolition of English on curriculum of Elementary School affected to students who will continue their education in English Institutions.  In addition, my friends told me that some people hate English. They think, English is useless and they proud of Bahasa.

            I think, the abolition of English, especially on curriculum of Elementary School is wrong. There are some advantages and the importance of learning English. First, English is international language. As the international language, English is really important in this modern era. Everyone cross the world using it to communicate. Moreover, the Asian countries like Malaysia. Second, English is general language. If you using smart phone, laptop, computer and another electronic devices, you will see English in their setting or instruction. Third, English make you know everything in this world, because world not just have one language. The reason is people who using Bahasa is lower than people who using English. Besides, there are many parents that ask their children to join English courses, because they conscious of the importance of learning English.

            Maybe some people disagree about English in school. Despite, English is useful for everyone to communicate, because it is international language. Maybe, you not just work with Indonesian people, but with people cross the world.
