Books or Internet

Today, information becomes a wanted thing. In this era globalization era, people have much desire in getting it. Information is needed because it can enrich their knowledge. Recently, there are many ways to improve the knowledge, such as reading from books or internet. Book is a written or printed work consisting of pages glued or sewn together along one side and bound in covers. However, according to Merriam –Webster Dictionary internet is an electronic communications network that connects computer networks and organizational computer facilities around the world. Both book and internet provided a lot of knowledge, but they are totally different. Content, knowledge validity, and practicality aspects can be used to compare them easily.

Both book and internet provide many kinds of information that human need. As a proverb says “book is the world windows”, people can extend their knowledge by reading book. They can also get the information that they can find in the book by reading article from the internet. Therefore, both of book and internet are similarly in providing insight. Even though they are similar, they are totally different. For getting knowledge from book, the readers have to read in detail. As the result, we can take more knowledge beside what we want to know. In opposite we can search information from the internet by typing the key words.  It tends to be easier. Unfortunately, sometimes we will get bad site like pornography on it. So that, it relays on the reader what they want to read by books or internet.

Considering the validity of information or knowledge, the readers have to be careful. The validity of book is guaranteed. Usually, book is written by relevant experts with its field. So that, it can be more trusted. Beside that before publishing, book is usually checked up or selected first whether it can good or not to be read. In contrast, everyone can write on the internet. Therefore, its validity sometimes is doubtful. So that, the readers have to be more careful in taking information or knowledge from the internet

The practicality of book and internet is totally dissimilar. We have to read book in detail or carefully to get the information. Sometimes, book also provides the knowledge unclearly. So that, the readers have to read the whole text to understand what it means. On the other hand, the readers can get the information from the internet practically. They just type the key words and click. After that, what they need will occur on the monitor. Therefore, internet is more practical than the book.

As the conclusion, we can say that both book and internet have similarity and differences also. Both of them provide a lot of information. However, they are totally different if they are compared based on the validity and practicality. Book is more valid because it will be selected first before publishing and usually it is expert writing. On the other hand, internet is more practical because we can get the information from around the world easily. As the weakness, the readers have to be careful in browsing on the internet because there are a lot of undeserved site on it. So that, it relays on the readers what they want to read from book or internet.
