PC VS. LAPTOP

Computers are not the only personal computers, but now there are laptops which is better known as notebook and netbook. Each product has its pros and cons each. It depends on the needs required before having a PC or laptop. Here are comparisons of advantages and disadvantages in laptop and PC.

The first is the price. PC prices are relatively cheaper than the price of a laptop with the same specifications. This is because the fees are used by manufacturers to make a larger laptop than with assembling a Personal Computer. From the notebook and netbook, notebook is more expensive than the netbook, because they are bulkier and its functions are more complete than the netbook. For example like in the netbook, there is no optical DVD drive as well as on PCs and notebooks.

The second is the portability. A PC is certainly not going to be carried easily by the user, because of its large, heavy, and was not created to be carried easily. Compared with the laptop, laptop obviously is more portable than the PC. Between notebook and netbook itself, there are differences in the portable side. Netbook form is smaller and lighter than notebooks and it gives a distinct advantage. Portability is also associated with network connectivity. On the Personal Computer, the network connectivity is relatively unchanged, because it was never taken to another place. On notebooks and netbooks, the connectivity is relatively changed, as it can be taken anywhere that there is a network or a Wi-Fi Hotspot.

The third is the specifications. On the Personal Computer, the computer specifications can be changed in accordance with the wishes by buying the computer parts that match the PC. The differences with notebooks and netbooks, the specifications are not replaceable easily. Only a few parts on the notebook and netbook that can be replaced or upgraded, like RAM. It also limited to the ability of notebook and netbook in capacity. It also affects the maintenance costs of the three kinds of computer. Unlike the Personal Computer that the price of the components are relatively cheaper, notebook and netbook will cost more than the PC. This is because the notebook and netbook usually require direct handling of a Service Center for repair and replace the spare parts. Another thing that distinguishes notebook and netbook is a fundamental specification in which the notebook is higher than the netbook. As an example in terms of processor, many notebooks today which have a high processor such as the Intel Core i3-i7, while on netbook only uses Intel Celeron or Atom. This makes a distinct advantage for netbook, because the low power consumption despite having high processor capabilities.

The last is its ability. The Personal Computer’s components can be replaced in accordance with the wishes. This makes the relative PC can customize the user’s desire and goal to have the PC, such as gaming or graphic design. This differs from the notebook and netbook which have limited capabilities. Notebook only have high specification that can be used for gaming and graphic design to the maximum. As an example of Alienware Notebook which is dedicated to gaming with extreme specifications. While netbooks are usually only used for surfing, chatting, watching videos, and listening to music, as well as the use of office work due to the limited capabilities of the processor.
